VAS Autumn exhibition

15 April 2023

This artwork started during a life drawing session when I was using a grey pigment marker, trying to catch the movement of the model in short poses. Working later with a variety of pigment-based watercolour markers, I worked in a slow meditative way, choosing colours intuitively and allowing the image to evolve. The title ‘I am’ came much later, intending to evoke the multiplicity of selves that make up a person, those we show to the world and those we keep hidden.
